7 Day Sightseeing Tour

South Island

Day 1 - Christchurch

Arrive at Christchurch International Airport you will be met by your driver/guide and transferred to your accommodation where you will have the opportunity to spend the day relaxing. Your first nights dinner arrangements will be pre- organised consisting of Dinner at the Willowbank Wildlife Reserve with a Maori Hangi (Dinner) and Culture Performance, as well as a wildlife excursion through the Willowbank reserve. Day 2 - Christchurch to Franz Josef Glazier

Depart Christchurch aboard the Tranz Alpine Express through the scenic untouched areas of the Southern Alps, through Arthurs Pass to the west coast town of Greymouth. On arriving in Greymouth, your driver/guide will meet you and your tour continues by road. From Greymouth your journey winds it’s way through the western slopes of the west coast which displays a series magnificent mountain ranges, and native New Zealand vegetation, your days itinerary will end in the tiny settlement of Franz Josef Glazier. Day 3 - Franz Josef to Queenstown

An interesting day of scenic opportunities experiencing the untamed beauty of the native New Zealand flora and fauna, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way. This day gives you the opportunity to view two major glaciers Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier, it also takes you through the South Westland region to one of our World Heritage Parks Mt Aspiring National Park this area is a vast, glacial sculpted wilderness. As you exit Mt Aspiring National Park you will travel through what is known as “The Neck” a formation of land that separates two of our great South Island lakes Lake Hawea and Lake Wanaka, a short stopover in Lake Wanaka before continuing on across the Crown Range to Queenstown. Day 4 - Queenstown

Your day’s itinerary will lead you to some of the most interesting adventures Queenstown has to offer, your first stop is Arthurs point, home of the Shotover Jet Boat Company, here you can experience one of New Zealand’s most exciting adventure rides Jet Boating on the Shotover River (this is a safe excursion for both children and adults). From Arthurs Point it’s on to Coronet Peak for more spectacular views of Queenstown, Lake Hayes and surrounding areas, after a short ride your next stop is Arrowtown a historic colonial village that takes you back into the Gold Mining days of the Otago region, and a chance to eat before your next encounter which is widely regarded as a safe spectator attraction the famous Kawarau Gorge Bungy Jumping exhibition (this is free for spectators, however, if you desire to make a jump the charge is additional to your tour package). From Kawarau Gorge you return to Queenstown where you can take the opportunity to explore the village area. Later in the evening, a special dinner itinerary has been arranged high above Queenstown where you can enjoy the scenery of Lake Wakitipu, and the spectacular Remarkables mountain range from the Skyline Restaurant.  Accommodation: Queenstown

Day 5 - Queenstown to Milford and Queenstown

A day to experience the rugged wilderness of one of New Zealand’s most remote regions Fiordland National Park another of New Zealand’s “World Heritage” areas and one of the largest such parks in the world. One of the major highlights of Fiordland is the beautiful Milford Sound, where you will experience a cruise, noted as “A fiord of spectacular beauty and natural grandeur”. Milford Sound Cruise, this is truly a day of scenic beauty. Following your day’s adventure you return back to Queenstown by road, or at an additional cost from your tour package rate you can fly back to Queenstown from the Milford Sound. Day 6 - Queenstown to Christchurch

As you depart Queenstown you will travel through the vast and interesting regions of Central Otago through the Lindis Pass to the McKenzie country stopping off at Lake Pukaki to view this unique lake and it’s beautiful colour configuration. You can also enjoy the views of Mt Cook, and Mt Tasman (notably the two highest mountains in New Zealand). From Lake Pukaki it’s an easy drive to Lake Tekapo where you have the chance to explore the foreshores of Lake Tekapo as well as the famous “Church Of The Good Shepherd” before continuing on to Christchurch.  Accommodation: Christchurch

D ay 7 - Christchurch

Departure Day free time to relax before your driver/guide collects you from your accommodation to transfer you to Christchurch Airport to connect you with your departing airline.
